Metallix Metallic Scenic Paint — Gold, Silver, Bronze & Copper (AU & NZ)
Rosco Metallix metallic scenic paint · AU & NZ
Need a real metallic finish, not a fake one?
Metallix is water-based scenic paint loaded with mica to give a genuine, shimmering metallic finish — gold, silver, bronze and copper that catch the light like real metal, dry to an even satin sheen and stay flame-retardant compatible. Brush, roll or spray it onto props, gilded set pieces, signage and highlights. Here's what each finish does, how to apply it, and the range to add to cart.

What it's best at
A true metallic finish, painted on
Gilded & ornate scenery
Gild frames, mouldings and ornate set pieces with warm golds and bronzes that read as real metal under light.
Props & set dressing
Turn a foam or timber prop into believable metal — armour, statues, signage, industrial dressing.
Highlights & accents
Dry-brush a metallic highlight over base colour for age, wear and catch-the-light detail.

How it works
Mica, not metal flake
Metallix gets its shimmer from mica powder rather than metal flake — which is why it stays water-based, easy to work, and compatible with Roscoflamex PA flame retardant. It goes on by brush, roller or spray over a suitably primed surface and dries to an even satin metallic sheen. And because it's a scenic paint, you can tint it with other Rosco colours to shift the shade while keeping the metallic effect.
