Hold detail through a bright window without lighting the whole interior to match. RoscoView pairs a polariser on the window with a rotating filter on the lens, so you can dial the exterior up or down on camera. A specialist broadcast & film system — supplied to size, enquiry only.

How it works
Two parts, one effect
RoscoView is a two-part system: a wide-width linear polariser on the windows and a matching polariser on the camera. Rotating the camera filter changes how the two cross, so you get full control over the exterior brightness — from a clear view to near black — without touching the interior lighting.
Polarise the window
A RoscoView polarising film is applied to the glass, cut to the window size.
Match it on the lens
A matching RoscoView rotating filter mounts on the camera lens.
Dial the exterior
Rotate the lens filter to darken or brighten the view through the window — live, on camera.

RoscoView Soft – 56" (per linear ft)
Wide-width linear polarising film for the studio or location windows. Sold by the linear foot.
RoscoView Camera Filter – 82mm
82mm round photographic-glass polariser in a threaded rotating ring.
RoscoView Camera Filter – 138mm
138mm round polariser for matte boxes and larger lens fronts.
RoscoView Camera Filter – 100×143mm
4" × 5.6" (100 × 143mm) rectangular filter for standard matte boxes.

Build the system
Sizes, rotators & control
Beyond the core film and filters, Rosco offers the parts to fit RoscoView to your cameras and control it remotely. We can quote any of these alongside your film and filters.
- Filter sizes — 6.6" × 6.6", 4" × 5.6" and 4" × 4" rectangles, plus 138mm and 82mm round. Custom sizes on request.
- Step rings — to mount round filters on lenses of different diameters.
- Rotators — Mark II motorised and Compact rotators turn the filter for you.
- Remote control — hand controllers and a GUI let an operator adjust every camera from the gallery.
- Air Channel — for installing the film between panels rather than on the glass.

The Bear
For a window-lit scene in season three, DP Andrew Wehde's grip team rigged three RoscoView panels on custom frames outside the location windows, so the lighting could be pushed in from outside while the exterior stayed readable.

NBC Sports, Tour de France
Expanding mobile studios built for NBC Sports' Tour de France coverage were fitted with RoscoView, letting the crew balance the bright outdoor course behind the presenters as conditions changed through the day.
