Why the pigment matters
Artist pigments, not liquid dispersions
Supersaturated is made with single-source, artist-grade dry pigments — usually one or two pure pigments per colour, not a muddy mix. That's why mixing behaves like an artist's palette (Rosco Red + Rosco Blue makes a clean purple, not mud) and why it holds up under coloured light. The heavy pigment load is also why you can extend it so far with water: one gallon genuinely does the work of two.

How to dilute it
From opaque to a 15:1 glaze
Supersaturated flexes from a solid coat to a translucent glaze just by adding water. Around 4-parts water to 1-part paint gives you an opaque, brushable coat; push it to 10:1 or 15:1 water and you get a translucent glaze for shade, shadow and atmospheric depth on drops and scrims. Add Clear Acrylic Glaze into the mix for extra adhesion and body when you're working very thin.
