Predictable colour, in steps
CalColor filters come in graduated densities — 15, 30, 60 and 90 — across blue, green, yellow, red, magenta, pink and lavender, plus five densities of cyan. Each step lets you add or subtract colour in a controlled way.
- Primaries: red, green, blue
- Secondaries: cyan, yellow, magenta
- Tertiaries: pink and lavender
- Four densities per colour (15, 30, 60, 90)
- Five densities of cyan (07 to 90)
- Add or subtract colour predictably

Camera colour work
Build colour looks in measured steps rather than by eye alone.
Colour correction
Subtract an unwanted cast by adding its complementary CalColor.
Testing before buying
Try densities on your fixtures, then order full sheets.
What it is — and what it isn’t
Use it for
- Controlled colour looks for camera
- Correcting colour casts by complementary colour
- Comparing densities before ordering sheets
- Speedlights, strobes and small LEDs
Don’t use it for
- Large fixtures — order full sheets or rolls
- CTO/CTB colour-temperature correction — use a correction kit
- Contact with hot lamps
- Final looks without checking on camera
Getting the best result
- Choose the colour, then start with a low density (15 or 30).
- Trim to fit your fixture and mount clear of hot parts.
- Check on camera and step up or down the density.
- To remove a cast, use the complementary colour.
- Order full sheets of the numbers you settle on.

Common questions
What is CalColor?
A patented Rosco filter system calibrated to produce pure primary, secondary and two tertiary colours for camera.
What do 15, 30, 60 and 90 mean?
They are graduated densities of each colour — from light (15) to strong (90).
How many filters are in the kit?
33 — four densities of seven colours, plus five densities of cyan.
What size are the pieces?
12" × 12" (30.48 × 30.48 cm).
Is there a smaller version?
Yes — the CalColor Flash Pack.
Kit contents are as published by Rosco and may change between production runs — check the pieces on arrival. Colour on camera depends on the source, white balance and sensor, so test first. Contents and figures on this page are a guide only.
