How it goes down

Fast dry times mean more than one coat in a single day, which is why a floor can be resurfaced in a break between shows.

Prepare

Clean, dry and sound. Remove loose or flaking paint, vacuum off dust, and lightly abrade glossy or previously coated areas so it can grip.

Seal porous areas

It is the primer, so no separate undercoat is needed. On very absorbent bare MDF, chipboard or raw ply, a thinned first coat evens out the porosity. Concrete needs proper prep first.

First coat

Lay on a thin, even coat by brush, roller or spray. Thin coats level better and dry harder than one heavy coat.

Recoat the same day

Touch dry in 30 to 45 minutes, recoat in 1 to 2 hours. Two coats suits most floors and both can go on in a day.

Let it cure

Let the finish dry and cure before wagons, equipment and traffic return to the floor. Allow extra time where you can.

Touch up as needed

Later on, scuff the worn area, clean it and recoat. No strip-back, no full repaint unless you want one.

How much will you need?

Based on roughly 28 m² per 3.8 L per coat. Two coats is standard for most stage floors.
