Rosco DigiComp HD Green (5751) — Digital Green Screen

DigiComp® HD · Digital Green (5751)
DigiComp HD Green — precision green for compositing
The digital green standard for virtual production and VFX. DigiComp HD Green (5751) is dialled to exact luminance and RGB targets with highly-specific spectral reflectance, so keyers separate foreground and background crisply — with little to no post clean-up.
Is green your key?
When digital green is the right key
The default precision key for compositing pipelines.
Virtual production & VFX
Where the key feeds a compositing pipeline and has to be clean at scale.
Little green in shot
Standard rule still applies — green foregrounds push you to blue.
Efficient lighting
High-gain reflectivity returns more keyable signal for the light you put in.
Problems it solves
The compositing problems it solves
Why VFX pipelines specify DigiComp rather than a generic green.
Dirty keys, endless roto
Spectral interference in generic mixes muddies separation.
Colour not to standard
Off-standard colour undermines compositing tools.
Over-lighting the screen
Low reflectivity forces more light.
Inconsistent across a volume
Big stages read as different greens.

Application
Lay it down right
Precision colour still needs an even, matte wall. Prime, two coats, light it flat, and verify on a scope.
Prep the surface
Clean, dry, oil-free. Fill and sand — even light reveals every defect.
Prime porous areas
Roll Tough Prime White for a uniform base so colour lays even across a big wall.
Stir, don't shake
Stir until uniform. Use straight from the tin; thin only minimally if at all.
Two even coats
Brush, roller or spray. Keep a wet edge and overlap strokes. Two coats over primer.
Recoat, then cure
Touch-dry in ~30 min, recoat in 1–2 hr, so both coats go on in a day.
Light it evenly & test
Even wash, no shiny props or floor spill — then check the key on your camera.
How much will you need?
Coverage calculator
Based on ~27 m² per 3.8 L tin per coat. Two coats over primer is the sensible starting point. Add ~10% for touch-ups and test patches.
